The move from Primary to Secondary school can be a daunting prospect for both children and parents, but we aim to support our pupils as much as we can to help make the change as easy as possible.

We have strong links to both Croesyceiliog School and Cwmbran High, and we hope that this year pupils may get to benefit from a full transition program, which previously (Pre-Covid) have included:

​

• parent meetings at both Llantarnam Primary and Croesyceiliog School/Cwmbran High

• staff visits to talk to the children about what they can expect from secondary school

• sports sessions, held at Croesyceiliog School

• pupil visits to secondary schools

Year 6 staff and/or our SENCo liaise with secondary transition coordinators to make sure that all relevant information is shared, and where it is deemed necessary an enhanced transition may be planned in order to ensure a child has a successful move from primary to secondary education.
