HOME LEARNING

In line with our Home and Distance Learning and Communication Policy, we provide learning support for learning both in school and when learning at home. Use the links below for more information.

Hwb is a Welsh Government provision, which provides learning resources for education professionals, students and parents.

Every child is issued with a Hwb email address and password when they start

with us.

Since the start of the Covid Pandemic we have had to find alternative ways of being able to make links with families, and disseminate information, and we now use Google Classroom/Google Meet for posting homework, class information and for hosting parent consultation. Pupil's Hwb login details are used for these platforms, providing safe, secure access.

There is also a wealth of resources available on Hwb, including online safety advice and information about the new curriculum, which can be accessed without an email/username.

Our main online resources for Maths support are Big Maths, Times Tables Rock Stars and IXL.

Pupils have their own login details for each platform, and may use them as part of their class work and/or be assigned specific tasks for homework.

We have recently introduced the Accelerated Reader scheme into school, and this works alongside myON, an online reading resource, to promote reading and literacy understanding. Pupils are assigned individual login details for myON and use the resource in school, and as part of their homework.

Oxford Owl has resources available for school and home use - 'Oxford Owl for Home' has a free e-library, as well as other resources and ideas, plus each class is assigned a school log on to enable access to even more.

Letter-join is a handwriting scheme which is used in school. Pupils are also issued with a school log to enable access to resources from home.
